PEAK2021 Grantmaking Conference

Exponent Partners will have a virtual booth at the PEAK 2021 Online conference from May 4-13, 2021. PEAK Grantmaking is a member-led organization that began in New York City with two grants managers meeting informally to discuss shared experiences at their foundations. Soon, they engaged other colleagues and, as membership grew, an open and participatory network developed. Today, PEAK Grantmaking is a vibrant member-led community of professionals who specialize in grants management for funding organizations. PEAK’s mission to advance grantmaking so grantmakers and grantseekers can best achieve their missions. Continuing PEAK’s 25-year commitment to centering equity and community, this year’s conference will focus on how to listen to communities, support adaptable communities, learn with our community, and create equitable community.

Join keynotes, breakouts, peer groups, and more, to learn how far the profession of grants management has come, including its growing influence and responsibility, critical work in this moment to meet the challenges of our day, and evolving role as a change leader in philanthropy.  PEAK2021 program helps tell the story of how grantmakers are:

  • Engaging with and investing in community by growing and supporting the capacity of nonprofit partners during this moment of national and international crisis
  • Building trusting relationships by listening and learning from grantees and community partners
  • Moving beyond diversity by creating more equitable practices within their institutions and by aligning actions with goals related to reducing bias and directing more funding and resources to community-led efforts and movements
  • Together creating the future of philanthropy, with BIPOC leaders leading the way

There’ll also be plenty of opportunities to connect with your peer community: Learn more about your local chapter, find an affinity group or community practice to join, or self-organize your own meet-up. Join a wellness activity, a musical performance, or a happy hour – we’ll have something for everyone!

Going Virtual in 2020 with the Conference Theme Courage in Practice

PEAK’s Board of Directors made the decision to cancel the PEAK2020 conference slated for March 9-11 in Seattle due to the COVID-19 outbreak on March 4, 2020. Like so many organizations in the sector, PEAK was able to pivot to gathering in-person to building community online. In May 2020, PEAK hosted their first-ever virtual conference, bringing together more than a thousand grants management professionals and our partners for a series of learning and networking events around the theme, Courage in Practice.
